This morning, the full-moon day of Saka Dawa, also known as Buddha Purnima, the day that commemorates the Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and mahaparinirvana, Khamba Lama Gabju, leader of Mongolian Buddhists opened proceedings by offering a mandala in Gandantegchenlin Monastery, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
