This morning, His Holiness the Dalai Lama was welcomed with boundless joy by Prof Lia Diskin of Palas Athena, Brazil, to a conversation about Educating the Heart.

Concerned about the incessant, heavy rains in several districts of Andhra Pradesh that have caused loss of life, damage to property, and brought hardship to so many people, His Holiness the Dalai Lama has written to the Chief Minister, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, to offer his condolences to him, to the families who have lost loved ones, and to all those affected by the massive floods.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama was the virtual guest of the National Institute of Disaster Management, India, to speak about compassion and love in the context of disaster management.

Following the death of the former President of South Africa, FW de Klerk, His Holiness the Dalai Lama has written to his widow, Mrs. Elita de Klerk, to offer his deep condolences.
